LUKA 7:17-35
Even John the Baptist had doubts! THE JOHN THE BAPTIST! Wewe nani usikumbwe na mashaka mashaka? ISSUE SIO KUWA NA MASHAKA—it’s human instinct! It is natural! ISSUE NI KUYAENDEKEZA MASHAKA NA KUYATEKELEZA. We all have doubts! I have doubts! Hata watumishi wakubwa—they do! It takes years and multiple encounters to really believe. Asikudanganye mtu—faith doesn’t come automatic nor can you force it!
Imani yako itakuwa stronger once you risk everything and go down the rabbit hole for God, willing to take the fall even when He doesn’t show up. God is not cheap! Never was! The higher the risk, the higher the return. All encounters start as nightmares! Ask Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego how much they liked the hot furnace!
John the Baptist heard mtu amefufuliwa live and by then he was rotting in a prison cell waiting execution! King Herode had him by the balls, and Jesus was saving everyone—except him?! WHHHHY??!!
Yohane na Herode
To understand why Yohana alituma wanafunzi kwa Yesu, lazima uelewe kwanini mtu wa Mungu alikuwa gerezani. John aliingilia ndoa haramu ya Herode. Herode alimuoa mke wa nduguye Philip. John akakemea! Herodia—the illegitimate queen—akamchukia roho! Akaanza kupanga kifo chake kimyakimya.
John was thrown into jail not for stealing, not for immorality—but for truth.
Doubts Zinaingia Wakati wa Giza
Yohana akiwa gerezani, Yesu hakumtembelea. Hakumtoa. Badala yake, Yesu anafufua watu wengine. Yohana anasikia habari, “Mtu kafufuliwa mchana kweupe!” Akashindwa kuvumilia—“Yule yule niliyembatiza? Ni yeye kweli?”
So he sends his disciples: “Wewe ndiwe ujaye au tumtazamie mwingine?”
Some scholars believe John just needed assurance that God’s plan was on track. Others say he was crumbling with doubt.
Remember—John witnessed heaven open, dove descend and voice declare Jesus! Still, he asks: “Ni wewe au tutafute mwingine?”
Maybe John Missed the Assignment
Yes, he was right to rebuke sin, but God never told him to rebuke Herode. Malachi alimuambia kazi yake ni “kuitengeneza njia.” Alienda nje ya wito wake. Focus is everything.
Shetani ni mtaalamu wa distraction. He made sure John died tragically—to trigger Jesus emotionally.
Yesu afanyeje sasa? Akimbilie jela? Alie? Atoe sadaka ya pole? No.
Yesu anasema, “Wafu wazike wafu wao.” He meant it. Hakurudi nyuma. He pressed harder. Akaponya zaidi, akatoa mapepo zaidi, akatangaza mwaka wa Bwana kwa nguvu mpya!

Watu wengi mnajikwaa kwa mtego wa maisha! Unapewa kazi ya milioni tano in your 20s! Uko top of the top—lakini ushamba unakuponza. Utoporo.
Mtu anakuletea heartbreak moja tu—umeishaaa!
Unaanza kulialia, kuacha kazi, kurudisha mafanikio nyuma. Wengine wanapata waume bora, lakini wanatamani malaya wa uzeeni. Utachezwa! Utaambulia UTI, dhiki, madeni, kudharaulika…
CHOICES!
You leave the big mission for a fake relationship. You leave destiny for a warm hug. You leave calling for chaos.
Then unaamka ukiwa 44, single mother, mtoto wa miaka 3, no direction. Then unaanza kuomba—“Jesus, do something.” He already did—you chose otherwise.
Kama Hujapata Kazi, Jua Assignment Yako!
Hujapata mume? Sawa! Tumia muda wako kufanya assignment ya mbinguni! Si kazi, si mume—basi sitaki hata mapenzi. Kama ni sex, lipia mahari, nioe. Kama huna mpango huo, “Salimia Farao, mwambie niko Kanaani, Misri sirudi!”
Hold the line. Kama Shadrack, Meshack na Abednego. Kama Yohana. Kama Yesu mwenyewe. Hata kama hauoni matokeo sasa hivi—keep pressing!
Mwisho wa Maneno
Kama Yesu alimfufua mtoto wa mjane, aliwaponya vipofu, alitoa mapepo—ATAKUFANYIA NA WEWE! Hata kama atashuka mwenyewe kwa ajili yako—atakufungulia njia!
Life is about choices. Na Yesu ni chaguo bora kabisa.
Ukikaza, utavikwa shela. Utaolewa. Utabarikiwa.
